When do I need to pay to confirm my booking
To confirm your booking, we kindly ask for full payment upfront. Once we’ve received your payment, your reservation will be all set and secured. We look forward to welcoming you!
How can I make payment?
You’re welcome to pay by credit or debit card (Visa, Mastercard, or Amex), or via EFT into our bank account—our banking details are provided on your invoice. If you choose EFT, please email your proof of payment to us at avemore@gmj.co.za.
Please note: EFT payments can take some time to reflect. If your arrival is within the next week, we recommend using the secure card payment link to avoid any delays or disappointment with your booking.
Can I check in before 2pm?
In order to ensure everything is perfectly prepared for your stay, our standard check-in time is from 14h00. In some cases, if the apartment wasn’t occupied the night before, we may be able to offer an earlier check-in—but we can only confirm this the afternoon before or on the morning of your arrival. If you’d like to guarantee early access, the best option is to book from the night before, allowing you to check in at any time that suits you. If you do arrive early and the apartment isn’t quite ready yet, we’re happy to offer secure luggage storage for your convenience (subject to availability.)
Can I check out after 10am
To ensure we have enough time to prepare the apartment to our high standards, we kindly ask guests to check out by 10am.
You're most welcome to use our secure luggage storage facilities after check-out. During the summer months (and depending on availability), you’re also invited to enjoy a relaxing swim at the pool area at Le Verger, our small Olive Farm in Devon Valley.
If you'd like to guarantee a late check-out, the best option is to book an additional night—this way, you’re free to check out whenever it suits you best.
Do you have luggage storage?
We offer luggage storage on request for our guests staying in any of our Central Stellenbosch and Stellenbosch, Devon Valley apartments. Luggage Storage is not available for our guests booking in at our Sedgefield apartments. If you arrive early or have a late departure, you're welcome to make use of our secure luggage storage facilities subject to availability. Let us know in advance, and we’ll gladly assist where possible.
Do you have parking?
Yes, all of our properties offer parking for at least one vehicle. If you're staying in the town centre and require additional parking, we recommend the secure paid parking at Eikestad Mall nearby. Alternatively, guests are also welcome to park extra vehicles at Le Verger, our small olive farm located in Devon Valley. Just let us know what works best for you and we’ll be happy to assist.
Can I arrange for an extra set of keys?
We normally provide one set of keys, but we’ll happily arrange an extra set for you if needed. Just let us know in advance so we can have it ready for your arrival.
Are visitors allowed?
To ensure the comfort and safety of all our guests, the maximum number of people allowed in the apartment at any given time may not be exceeded. We kindly ask that you respect this policy. If you have any specific visitor requests, please feel free to contact us.
Is cleaning included in my stay?
Our properties are not serviced daily. For stays of 7 days or longer, we provide a complimentary light cleaning service and linen change during your stay.
Can I arrange extra cleaning?
Yes, we can arrange extra cleaning on request at an additional fee. Just let us know what you need, and we’ll be happy to assist.
Is the pool at Le Verger shared?
Our swimming pool is shared by our Le Verger guests.
Which restaurants are good?
We have a great list of local restaurant recommendations! Please contact us once you’ve made your booking, and we’ll be happy to share it with you.
What wine tasting tour is good?
We can suggest some fantastic wine tasting tours in the area. Just reach out to us after booking, and we’ll share the details.
Does Uber travel to Le Verger?
While availability can vary, especially during peak times, it's generally possible to request an Uber to and from Le Verger. We suggest that you choose from the mid-range cost options as the cheaper options do not travel out of the town itself to our apartments in the Devon Valley.
Which shuttle is reliable?
We have a few recommended drivers who many of our guests have used and trust. If you'd like, we can share their contact details to help you arrange a reliable shuttle. Just let us know!
Do you supply amenities?
We provide shower gel, lotion, and shampoo for your first nights stay.
Complimentary tea and coffee are provided for you to enjoy after you've settled in following your arrival..
Please note that these items are not replenished during your stay.
Do you supply firewood?
We provide a bundle of firewood and firelighters as a welcome gift to get you started.
Should you require further supplies, these are readily available for purchase at local garages/petrol stations.
Feel free to get in touch if you need a pin drop to the nearest station.
Can the Avemore team warm up my hot tub before my arrival?
The hot tub takes about 1.5 hours to heat up. Since it is wood-fired and requires monitoring, it cannot be left unattended - for this reason, we are unable to heat the tub before your arrival, but we’ll be happy to provide instructions so you can enjoy it safely once you’re here.
How does check in work?
- Check in time is from 14h00-21h00.
- Should you require check-in outside of these hours, you will need to arrange this in advance so that a member of our team is on hand to open the gate for you.
- As your arrival date approaches, our admin team will send you a quick check-in link. Please take a moment to complete it—this helps ensure a smooth and hassle-free check-in experience.
- Your keys will be waiting for you in a lock-box at the entrance.
- A few days before your arrival, we’ll email you the full check-in instructions—so please double-check that your email address is correct when completing the check-in form.
- On the morning of your arrival, we’ll send you the lock-box pin via WhatsApp.
- If you'd like a personal welcome, please feel free to reach out to us, we'll do our best to arrange for a member of our Avemore Apartments team to meet and greet you, depending on their availability, or to pop in to touch base during the course of your stay.
- If you have any questions or would like us to call you shortly before arrival, feel free to let us know — we’re here to help and want your check-in to be as seamless as possible.
How does check out work?
- Check-out is from 7:00 to 10:00 AM.
- Should you require an earlier check-out, please contact our team to make arrangements to open for you.
- Please refer to the detailed check-out instructions that our team will send you before your departure.
- We ask that guests checking out in the early hours of the morning remain considerate of guests in surrounding apartments and to limit any disturbance to them.

Can I bring my dog?
We allow not more than two dogs at our Winelands Home situated on our beautiful Le Verger Olive Farm and we ask when walking your dog/s on the farm that you keep them on leash. Your garden at Winelands Home is fenced and you will be able to leave the less-adventurous dogs at home while wine-tasting. We are also happy to welcome two of your dogs at our Sedgefield Island Home on the Garden Route, Sedgefield subject to prior arrangments only.
Are my kids welcome?
Children are welcome at any of our Avemore Properties, we do ask our guests to consider noise levels and that your little ones do not disturb other guests in your neighbouring apartments.
Can you supply a cot?
Absolutely! We’d be happy to provide a cot, high chair, and baby bath on request. Just let us know in advance, and we’ll make sure everything is ready and waiting for your little one.
How far is Le Verger from Central Stellenbosch?
Le Verger is located approximately 6 to 7 kilometres from the heart of Stellenbosch which is a quick 10-minute drive, making it a convenient distance for guests looking to explore the town's attractions, restaurants, and shops.
Sizes of beds?
Most of our apartments feature either king or queen-size beds to ensure a comfortable stay, our bachelor apartments sport double-beds and our Sedgefield Island Home we have included bunk-beds and single-beds.
